The new/old place is wonderful. Today will be taken by trying to arrange my movies in my usual anally-retentive fashion. As I was exercising the baby, Racer The Pooh, I was reminded that this morning is the AIDS Walk, which is supposed to be a Faire Promo. Had forgotten about that. No real excuse for not throwing on my costume and going other than I want the day, especially after a very busy past two weekends.
The car started to sound very rumbly and rattle-y this past week, so an appointment was made at the muffler place (Seeburg's, in the Northtown off of Burlington), and I am now the proud owner of a new muffler and all. $171. Could be worse, I suppose ... thank the Goddess it wasn't a transmission problem ... but the timing kind of bites, given that I still need to pay the May rent.
Came home from work yesterday, to the joy of a disconnect notice on my doorknob, from the cable company. Turns out that my predecessor in the new/old place has not been paying her cable bills. Also turns out that, despite her assurances that she would talk to them and let them know that she has moved out, nothing has actually been done. (Wish I could express surprise.) As it stands, I don't have cable TV, but my Internet is through Time-Warner, so I was on the phone, frantically trying to make it through their phone tree to an actual human being before: A) they closed, B) they disconnected my Internet, and C) I had to be at rehearsal. Kinda not happy with said predecessor.
Was pleasantly surprised to find, in my mailbox, a package from Disney Home Video. During the holiday season I had purchased the DISNEY LEGACY TRUE-LIFE ADVENTURES series. One of the discs had a coloring flaw on two of the short subjects, rendering the water in the lake and bayou scenes in a bright red. Not quite as nature intended. Called them on it, but didn't really expect anything to be done; checked out the new disc and it is flawless; the colors are as they should be. There is another disc, same series, with an aspect ratio issue (the movie started out with a TV screen-sized aspect ratio and then ended in widescreen; the disc I have maintains the fullscreen aspect ratio throughout the movie). I called them on it, and they are sending me a replacement on that one, as well.
Did I note my anal-retentiveness when it comes to my movies?
Talking to the Disney person was a very pleasant experience; I get the impression that their customer service people are trained fairly thoroughly by the Mouse People.
Sweeney Todd rehearsals are going great; will be looking forward to them even more knowing that my muffler won't be falling off on the drive to the rehearsal space. And, yes, that was a plug. Screw subtlety.
Yours Eee-villy,
